Big news from us; after 17 years of being housed in a sprawling, Georgian townhouse, OSP is moving to pastures new! Yes, we’re handing back the keys to Ashbourne House in Chepstow town centre and relocating to a newly refurbed space in a bustling, purpose-built, out-of-town, serviced office building.
As we — like so many other businesses — quickly realised that the increase in team requests for remote and flexible working meant we really didn’t need the square footage we’d filled pre-COVID, we decided that downsizing would make better commercial sense for the OSP family. And whilst we’ll be sorry to say goodbye to our vast old building and it’s amazing setting (we’ll certainly miss having a castle in our back garden), it feels pretty exhilarating to be starting life after lockdown in a new home.
The whole team has been involved in our office refit, from choosing the carpet and creating art for our new walls, to sourcing fake foliage for our “non-living living wall” and commissioning a branded neon sign! So not only has it been a truly collective effort in which we’ve all participated, it also signals a fresh and invigorating new start for us as a company after what’s been a turbulent 18 months for all of us, everywhere.
Our new home is handily located just off the motorway, making it an ideal base from which to travel to meet with our international clients (when face-to-face meetings and events begin again… fingers crossed) and the new OSP HQ will see the whole team being sat in an open plan (albeit zoned) space, rather than being spread across several floors — making internal communication and collaboration just that little bit easier on those occasions when we can come together in a non-virtual setting.
We’re going to be co-habiting with some other interesting and innovative companies too, counting several cutting edge healthcare and technology companies amongst our new neighbours.
So, exciting times ahead for Team OSP! The only question left on our ‘house move’ to do list is which of us is going to be the first to make the Monday morning coffee run into town…?
